Terms of Use

Last updated: June 2026

Twin is a free tool. These terms explain the basis on which it is provided. By downloading or using Twin, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Twin.

1What Twin is

Twin is a free, local-first career coaching application. It runs on your own device and uses an AI provider that you connect. The Twin project does not charge you to use the software.

2License to use

Twin is provided to you free of charge for your personal use. The source code is not public at this time. You may download, install, and run the official builds of Twin under these terms. The software remains the property of the Twin project, and all rights not expressly granted here are reserved.

3You bring your own AI

Twin has no built-in AI. You are responsible for your own AI provider accounts, API keys, usage, and any costs they charge. You agree to comply with the terms of any AI provider or connector you enable. The Twin project is not responsible for third-party services, their availability, their commercial terms, or their output.

4Not professional advice

Twin provides career guidance for informational purposes only. It is not professional career, legal, financial, medical, or employment advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Twin does not predict whether you will get or keep any job, and it makes no guarantee of any outcome. Decisions about your career and your life remain yours.

5Acceptable use

6Provided "as is"

Twin is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Twin will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its output will be accurate or suitable for your situation.

7Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Twin project and its maintainers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of Twin, your reliance on its output, or the acts of any third-party provider you connect. Because Twin is provided free of charge, you use it at your own risk.

8Changes

We may update these terms as Twin evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
