Privacy Policy
Twin is a free, local-first application. It is built so that your information stays on your own device. We do not run a central service that collects, stores, or sells your data. This policy explains what that means in practice.
1Who this applies to
This policy covers the Twin application (the "App") and this website. "We", "us", and "the Twin project" refer to the maintainers of Twin. By using Twin you agree to this policy.
2No accounts, no collection
Twin does not require an account, an email address, or a signup. We do not collect personal information, and there is no Twin server or database that holds your name, your career history, your conversations, or your goals.
3Your data stays on your device
By default, everything Twin works with, your inputs, generated reports, notes, goals, and conversation history, is stored locally inside your own Twin installation. You can export, back up, or delete it yourself. The Twin project does not automatically receive or inspect any of it.
4AI providers you connect
Twin has no built-in AI of its own. You bring your own AI provider (for example GitHub Copilot, OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure, or a local model). When you connect a provider, the relevant parts of your request are sent to that provider so it can respond. That processing is governed by your chosen provider's own privacy policy and terms, not ours.
- Twin minimizes what is sent and shows you the boundary at the moment data leaves your machine.
- We never see your API keys or your provider account. They are stored locally and used directly between your device and the provider.
- If you enable optional connectors (such as web search, job boards, email, or calendar), data you choose to share goes to those services under their own terms.
- In fully local mode, with a local model and no connectors enabled, nothing leaves your machine.
5This website
This marketing website does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics that profile you. Like most websites, our hosting provider may process standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and reliability. We do not use that information to identify or track individuals.
6Children
Twin is not directed to children and is intended for working adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
7On your device
Twin runs entirely on your own device, so the files and data it keeps live in your own file system, where you can inspect them. We do not run a central service that sees your information. If you find a privacy issue, please report it to hello@proxperity.ai.
8Changes
We may update this policy as Twin evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, noted in the project changelog.
